My new project "An evening with" starts with the one and only Fong-Leng!
A true master in her designs and creations, I am lucky enough to call myself her first photography assistant and she is also one of my best friends; she had to be the one who kicks off this very fresh and new personal project!
On the 14th of July 2017 I went to Amsterdam Fashion Week to go and see Bas Kosters' fashionshow, with Fong-Leng, Severine and Eric from Morren galleries.
We met Milou (van Rossum) when we got there. Milou had our tickets ready and we went for a drink at the bar. Walking hand in hand with Fong-Leng through the massive crowd I heard people whisper “Fong-Leng is here!”
Soon after we went to the space where Bas’ show would be held, and we were placed front row, Milou next to Fong-Leng, I sat next to Fong-Leng and model Ovo, and next to Ovo sat Karin Swerink - editor in chief of Vogue NL. Hello.
Ofcourse I had my camera with me and from the moment I got to Fong-Leng’s house I wanted to make it more of a “an evening with" Fong-Leng story instead of just photos from Bas’ Show.
I also wanted to give this fashionshow a new perspective from an unexpected angle.
Bas' show was amazing and energetic.
The models were cool; it was also very theatrical and fun to watch - especially when Miss Bunty came on and she sang "Karottern taart", walked around on the (huge) runway and it was just fabulous to see, the highlight of the evening for me personally as I didn't know that she would be part of the show, she was awesome!
I gave her (as the only person) a standing ovation - epic!
