As the resident photographer at Escape Amsterdam I meet a lot of people from all over the world.
On one particular night there was a very friendly and energetic man in the VIP section of the Escape.
I noticed that he was having a lot of fun with his girl friend and I introduced myself to them and asked if they would mind it if I photographed them which they didn't and for some reason I felt a connection.
My night went on photographing at the club.
The following day I received a phone call from Canada, the person on the phone asked me if I could photograph for Paulino that night, it was his P.A.
I told Paulino's P.A. that I could and would and the time came for me to go to the location.
I arrived at the location and I waited for some time before a huge Continental car drove into the street, there they were! Paulino and JouxJoux.
After we had greeted each other Paulino said : "photograph every-thiiiiiiiiiing!! and get in the car, we are going on a tour through Amsterdam!"
I got myself into the car and I photographed as if my life depended on it.
I photographed on my knees from the front seat of the car while the chauffeur was driving us through busy streets swirling and taking corners, in the meantime I had to focus on composition and keeping in balance.
Paulino wanted Burger King. So we stopped at the Rembrand square and into the Burger King we went.
Paul wanted me to photograph him inside the Burger King, I continued photographing.
Luckily I know what my camera settings have to be in occasions like these as It is almost the same as photographing the nightlife in Amsterdam, except that this was on the street and inside the Burger King.
Afterwards we went back to the "house" and we didn't stop.
The different rooms were absolutely beautiful and photogenic, almost like ready made movie sets!!
The night went on and I made a lot of photo's and by 03:00am I called it a wrap, greeted Paulino and JouxJoux and went home.
The next day I received another phone call.
"Can you come by and photograph again, today?"
This time it was late in the afternoon and Paulino and JouxJoux had prepared for a freestyle photo shoot.
Paulino is a very bright and colorful stylist, he styled every room. JouxJoux was our model.
We made cool photo's together; In the bathtub, under the shower and in the different gorgeous rooms.
The light was incredible to work with as was Paulino's styling!
The three of us spent these two adventurous evenings together, styling and photographing and having fun!
Not only did we have two very productive evenings, this was also the beginning of a new friendship.
